I did purchase the $9.99 warranty through Amazon, only because it includes data recovery (wasn't clear if the WD warranty would). I thought about getting the 2TB, but am now glad that I did not. After backing up two computers, I've still got 3.65 of 4TB free. I am now using this as a time machine for two different mac computers. I just waited until it started, then walked away times. What I liked was that I was able to plug in, and the time machine immediately opened to start a back up.

I knew to expect the first backup to take a while, so that was no problem. I decided to pick up the 4TB version of this drive and give it a try. I remember reformatting drives in the past, and it was no fun.

I've waited WAY too long to back up my Mac computers.
